Craftsmanship on an industrial scale - the Eurocomponents USP
Eurocomponents Modular bathroom pods were chosen for an extension to one of the most prestigious and historical hotels in Norway: the Britannia Hotel in Trondheim.
The hotel
The Britannia Hotel, established in 1870, is also known as the “white swan” of Trondheim. It is famous for its traditional British style and 5-star service. The new owners wanted to preserve the same high standard as the hotel, redefining it and upgrading it to an outstanding 5-star hotel offering modern convenience and hospitality services, particularly when it comes to the bathrooms and wet areas
Design
The interior design for the Britannia Hotel refurbishment is by Interior Design and Architecture Studio Metropolis Arkitektur & Design AS and the hotel was built and refurbished by Hent AS. The hotel opened in April 2019 with 168 new rooms over and above the 90 existing rooms. The total number of rooms in the Britannia Hotel is now 258, including tower suite, deluxe rooms, rooms for artists and business rooms.
Eurocomponents delivers again
Since 2017, Eurocomponents has delivered two different types of bathroom, a total of 168 Monolite Smart bathroom units with a metal frame shell and gypsum fibre panels on a cement floor.
The following technical and tailor-made customisations are of particular interest:
- washbasin countertop and shelves, bathroom flooring and wall tiles made entirely out of custom Carrara Venatino marble slabs;
- flooring with herringbone pattern;
- customised taps with bronze finish;
- shower panel in ultra-clear glass and hinges with bronze finish;
- internal technical compartment behind the WC wall to overcome the lack of space in the hotel structure.
Everything is topped off by a customised lighting design to create a warm ambience and enhance the level of comfort in the room.
Customer feedback
Customer feedback is a source of pride for us: he was astounded by the high level of finish and craftsmanship when he inspected a sample bathroom at the factory. He initially doubted it was possible to make such a complex and highly customised product on an industrial level, but this is what Eurocomponents is all about.
We nailed it!
